Private Viewing draws from a sustained fascination with the surreal intimacy of ball-jointed dolls by Ryo Yoshida and Simon Yotsuya—figures that feel animate, shaped by devotion and imagination.

The project was featured on NOWNESS ASIA

The work considers the doll as a vessel for an inner self, navigating the tension between exposure and concealment.

It is also informed by trans women, whose grace and defiant softness reimagine femininity. A resonance emerges between doll and body, both literal and symbolic.

Realised in Bangkok, the project came together through a close-knit queer creative community. With styling by Swannie Dean and casting by Nalin (Peppers Casting), the series is anchored by trans models Jayda and Whisky.
